RARE BEAR APRIL-May UPDATE Progress Report From Rare Bear Fan Sponsor Coordinator Sharon Coates:
Some instances: Mr. Robert Winner of Windfall, Indiana has become a sponsor plus, he owns an antique Stinson. At his own expense, he has printed 400 of our final contracts and order forms. He is flying the Stinson all over the state of Indiana spreading the flyers out to every airport. He has scheduled talks to the Indiana state EEA meetings, local flying clubs, etc. When I asked him why he was so willing to give the extra help, he said: "I have to! Lyle found the Bear just 30 miles down the road from where I live." We have people who are going to paint original oil and acrylics of the Bear for raffles at Reno, to help us. We have one person who is designing Rare Bear wear merchandise and producing it at his own expense. He will sell it at various air shows, with our sanction and donate 30% of all proceeds. This same man is the one who is making the model of the Rare Bear at cost to us for our web-store. We have a few sponsors who are going to distribute our final contracts and order forms at the air shows in their vicinity, throughout the coming months. We need more volunteers for this particular phase of getting the word out. Another individual has volunteered to produce at his own expense official ID necklaces for us to distribute at Reno in September to all Fan Sponsor members who can be there. Some Rare Bear fans are sending installment payments on their chosen membership dues, which makes my work harder but rewarding. It's encouraging to know people are that dedicated to getting the BEAR BACK IN THE AIR! As soon as the merchandise arrives, we will be opening the web-store for sales of general Rare Bear merchandise. We even have found volunteers to do this time consuming job. A number of Aviation magazines and Newspapers have given us free space to help spread the word as well as John Tegler on his radio talk show. Tech TV also featured Lyle and the Rare Bear in their broadcast on April 8th, 2002, of "Magnificent Flying Antiques," which they advertised on line at: http://www.techtv.com/news/culture/story/0,24195,3379854,00.html The volunteers and supporters we have found have all helped us a lot toward our goal, we just need to find more of them in order to make this a successful run for the Gold. Our biggest problem, at this time, is reaching the other Bear fans to inform them of our program, therefore, the fans we have reached are going to have to step up to the plate and help us find more fans who are willing to put their money where their mouth is as so many have so far.
