Rare Bear Fan Sponsor Club, Inc-- Official Entry Information

The "Rare Bear" Sponsor Club, Inc. is an organization created to provide financial support to the racing efforts of unlimited air racer #77, "The Rare Bear". In return for participation in the club, members will be entitled to receive certain privileges or merchandise, as spelled out in the following paragraphs. This form will serve as the official agreement and registration document.

There are two levels of participation in the club, the $1000 membership and the $500 memberships.

As a $1000 sponsor, you will receive a specially designed, limited edition, personalized sponsorship leather jacket, with the "Rare Bear" race logo. Additionally, you will receive a numbered membership card which will entitle you to attend the sponsorship barbecue at Reno during one of the final 3 evenings of the air races. At that time, one name will be drawn from the $1000 sponsors to spend a day in the Bear pit with the crew. A chance to sit in the "Rare Bear" and a photo opportunity will also be included for the lucky winner.

As a $500 sponsor, you will receive a personalized nylon version of the same limited edition sponsorship jacket, with the "Rare Bear" race logo. You will also receive a numbered membership card which will provide access to the same barbecue. at which time one name will be drawn to allow the winner to sit in the cockpit of the Bear, including a photo opportunity.

Immediate family members of sponsors may receive a family membership card for an additional fee of $25 per person. The family member will be entitled to a limited- edition sponsorship T-shirt and admission to the barbecue.

Should you prefer to have immediate family members have a jacket that matches yours instead of a sponsorship T-shirt, this form of family member sponsorship is also available at a cost of $225.00 for the leather jacket sponsorship and a cost of $130.00 for the nylon jacket sponsorship.

With the "Rare Bear" now residing in a hanger, near pit row, at Reno-Stead Airport, sponsors and family members will be entitled to visit the "Rare Bear" hanger, where light refreshments will be served. You may have a chance to chat with Lyle, John and the crew, if they are not working on the Bear. Since the hanger is located in the pit area,, it is the responsibility of sponsors and their family members to obtain pit passes to allow access to the hanger, should they desire to partake of the hospitality.

All sponsors will receive regular updates on the progress of the Bear, through e-mail or snail-mail.

A maximum of 250 members will be allowed in the sponsorship club. Members will be given first option for participation in the following year's club, at a significantly-reduced fee. Renewing members will be given a "Rare Bear" race patch for that year as well as a new membership card. If you choose to no longer sponsor the Bear, you will be placed in inactive status but will still receive the newsletter, if you like.

All sponsorship money will be spent on the direct operating expenses of the "Rare Bear" except for those portions of the fees used to cover merchandise and services for the club members.

In the event that the "Rare Bear is unable to participate in the Reno Air Races during any given sponsorship year, each members sponsorship privileges will be extended to include the next season in which "Rare Bear" participates in the Reno Air Races.

Tax-exempt status has been applied for with the IRS. All contributors will be notified regarding their deduction as soon as the Club's tax-exempt status is verified.

For those of you who cannot afford a full sponsorship, but would like to help get The Bear In The Air, we are accepting donations of $25.00 or more, at which time you will receive a limited edition Rare Bear Sponsorship bumper sticker.
