Turning in a journeyman's performance, Rare Bear Veteran Pilot, John Penney fought hard throughout the week at Reno 2007 trying to find the "lost power" missing from the Rare Bear's 3,350 cubic inch engine.

On an early Sunday "final race day" test flight, the hills around Stead echoed with the growl of the awakening Rare Bear...

The crew had finally hunted down the gremlins and had Rare Bear's ready to go for the Gold in the final race scheduled for later in the day!

John and Mike Brown were toe to toe from the beginning of the race to the final lap. Both men landed with airplanes barely able to fly.. but John, Rod Lewis and the crew had done it! Rare Bear racked up another win at Reno 2007!
